SHEEPISH...................

As you may know...I love wool........I like to knit it, crochet it, dry felt it, wet felt it....and applique it.....
I had to share with the rest of the wool lovers out there this great book my niece Monica gave me.....I just started reading it last night and it is hilarious as well as very informative.......
It's about two women that care for sheep and all the trials and tribulations.....I highly recommend it!!!!!!!!!!
here's some wool as it is from the start..........it has to be washed, carded...dyed......

It comes in many different forms...here are some gorgeous locks......great for texture......
Some great roving too.....and of course wool fabric dyed in beautiful colors for applique....

I have made many projects with wool fabric,,here are some of my projects designed by Sue Spargo.....

Flowerbed quilt.....it was a lovely pattern to make..............

And another design by Sue that we worked on at her home......

Well....I hope if you are a wool lover too you will read this great book!

6/6/2011 A gift for my first childhood friend...Dina

This past april I was able to spend some beautiful moments with my friend Dina in Uruguay. She was my first childhood friend and we have reunited after 36 yrs!
I made this small wall hanging to honor and cherish the beautiful friendship we share that now is not just made of memories but also plans for the future....
It's Dina and I, and the future....
it is needle felted with many different colors of wool and some bits of lace, cheesecloth and ANGELINA FIBERS....

TO TODAY!!!!!

This past year I have worked with my friend Dina on a project for a very well known International Textile Art competition from WTA.
I can't share yet but I will as soon as we know  if it has been accepted. It was  terrific to work side by side even though from different countries which such a talented artist and exceptional human being.
Thank you Dina for your artistry, your sensitivity, understanding, encouragement and lasting friendship!

A FELTED CLUTCH

You may remember that while I w as in Brasil, I taught my sister and my Dad how to wet felt. I made a piece myself and I decided the other day it was time to make something with it!
So here's what I came up with...A clutch to just take the really needed things when I go to certain places instead of my standard' suitcase'!I found the button in a second hand store a while back and I thought it was the perfect touch for it!
