NIGHT BLOOMING CEREUS

Several years ago my friends Paul and Stacie gave me one leaf that was to be eventually a beautiful night blooming cereus...I took some patience but eventually it did bloom...this plant blooms once a year ( at least for me, without greenhouse conditions) and each bloom starts to bloom at dusk and will fully open within hours as you witness it until it is fully open. By morning the flower is closed and done for the year. The full size of the blooms was about 8 inches. The fragrance unlike any other...I wish you could come and sit on my porche and witness it...until then, I am sharing some pictures....Isn't it incredible?

  2. How AWESOME!!! You must sport a green thumb! I worked at a flowershop for 4 years, but thank goodness they didn't trust me with their plants. lol I'm a designer, but certainly not a grower. Will it still be in bloom during the fair? Would love to smell the fragrance... even though I have developed allergies to a lot of florals. lol Is this plant native to South America?
